Gold for Kids is a student-led organization supporting children affected by cancer while empowering students to lead, create, and make a difference.
Childhood cancer affects children and families in ways that extend far beyond treatment. Gold for Kids believes students can play a meaningful role in supporting these families while learning, leading, and creating solutions of their own.
We bring together service, cancer education, student leadership, and innovation to create opportunities for young people to take action.
Connect students, communities, healthcare professionals, and organizations around childhood cancer initiatives.
Explore childhood cancer research, treatment, healthcare, and innovative solutions through educational initiatives.
Give students opportunities to lead projects, build teams, and turn their ideas into meaningful initiatives.
Create tangible service initiatives that support children and families affected by cancer.
Gold for Kids empowers students to support children affected by cancer through meaningful service, education, advocacy, and innovation while developing the next generation of leaders.
A future where students everywhere have meaningful opportunities to contribute to the fight against childhood cancer and use their skills, ideas, and leadership to create positive change.
We recognize the people behind the statistics.
We believe caring should lead to doing.
We encourage students to think creatively about real challenges.
We believe meaningful impact is built together.
We give students opportunities to take responsibility and create change.
“I've spent years studying cancer through biomedical research and science competitions, including taking a cancer-focused project to the national level as a Thermo Fisher Junior Innovators Challenge finalist.
The more I learned about cancer, the more I realized that behind every cell, treatment, and research paper is a real child and a real family going through something they never asked for.
I wanted to do more than study cancer. I wanted to give students a way to stand beside the children we're trying to help.
That's why I created Gold for Kids.”
“For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to be a doctor. It wasn't a decision I arrived at gradually — it's something I've felt since I was a kid, long before I understood what the path actually required.
What drew me to medicine was never just the science. It was the idea of being the person someone turns to on their hardest day, and being able to actually help. That instinct to help people has stayed with me through every science fair, every research project, and every conversation about what I want my future to look like.
Gold for Kids gave that instinct somewhere to go right now, instead of waiting until medical school. Supporting children with cancer lets me start living out that dream today, leading, building, and helping, while I keep working toward the doctor I've always wanted to become.”
